LEADERSHIP COACHING

Coaching is a powerful on-the-job method to quickly develop leaders’ competencies, in their most important developmental areas.  Coaching is a tailored approach to leadership development that results in lasting behavioral change.  Targeted, personalized information and instruction is provided real-time and in the context of actual situations the leader is facing.  Coaching discussions are open, mutually respectful, and confidential.  Each session results in new insights, strategies, and/or practice for the leader, so their solutions can be applied immediately and successfully.

ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE & DEVELOPMENT

Change is continuous – what is less obvious is how to best manage change for organizational success. 

Organizational change occurs when an organization transitions from a current state to a future state.  Abrams & Associates consultants help our clients manage change in ways that minimize resistance and organizational cost, and maximize the change effort’s overall effectiveness.[1]

Organization development (OD) consists of structured activities that affect and ultimately improve an organization’s performance.  In fact, “every action that influences an organization's improvement program...can be said to be an intervention.”[2]   Typical OD processes usually include:  1) Assessment – in which we identify a client organization’s most important areas for improvement, and recommend solutions for those needs, and 2) Implementation – in which we assist clients in applying recommendations and achieving their desired results.  Typical implementation-stage activities include broad culture change efforts; new communication tools and strategies; talent reviews; targeted team-building exercises; training; and/or many other kinds of activities.

TALENT DEVELOPMENT

Abrams & Associates offers various activities either as stand-alone activities or as components that support a larger organizational initiative, as described above in OD.  Among many other activities, these could include team-building, talent review, performance management, and/or training design and delivery.

APPLIED RESEARCH & ASSESSMENT

Abrams & Associates provides a variety of research & assessment services for clients.  For organizations, applied research refers to an internal investigation undertaken to answer specific questions that achieve practical goals.  Research activities often include a combination of surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions.  Other assessments offered by Abrams & Associates consultants focus on individuals or teams -- Abrams & Associates consultants are certified in a broad range of assessment tools to use with individuals and groups.  In all cases, the goal is to provide clients with data they can act on, to  identify needs, develop solutions, and ultimately improve.
